About Us

Richards Bros was established in 1934 with premises at Drift near Penzance.  The core business activities being base around general engineering.  In time the business evolved to cater for the needs of the local agricultural & fishing industries.  With a diesel injection workshop installed in the mid 50's the road to becoming a specialist had started.  With a fully equipped vehicle workshop we were able to offer our customers a complete service.

With the need in business to always improve the quality of service to our customers the decision to move the business to Redruth in 1983 allowed us to cover a greater customer base.  Business activities had now been concentrated solely on the diesel injection repairs and sales.  With the business expanding and the call from our customers to increase our products and services the decision was made to move the business into it's own purpose built premises.

In December 1989 we moved into our new building.  With the facilities for a fully equipped diesel injection workshop and the new addition of a vehicle workshop we were in the position to offer a complete diagnostic and repair service to our customers.  With this expansion of the business we have been appointed as official service agents and distributors for a number of leading diesel and petrol injection manufacturers and repairers (see service agencies page for full listing).  We are also in a position to offer our customers the possibility to performance tune their road vehicles and have helped a number of local race and rally teams to success over the years with both products and technical assistance.

The company in 2002 formed into Richards Bros Ltd and now employs nine people from office staff to vehicle technicians.  With a customer base that ranges from private individuals to the franchised main dealers we are able to cater for a large and varied number of customer requests.

The Future:

Being a small dedicated team we can offer a personal one-to-one service that we believe is a fundamental part of our business success.  

With the electronic control systems on new vehicles both petrol and diesels becoming more and more complicated, we are constantly looking to improve our capabilities to offer our customers the best service possible.  We also believe that the ever growing market for performance modifications will continue, and that we will be able to offer new and existing customers a local solution to their performance and motorsport tuning needs.
